WhatsApp Desktop App launched, You can now Chat on your Laptop
Since Mark Zuckerberg paid $22 billion for WhatsApp, the App seems to be growing faster with new features and improvement, Today you can now continue your WhatsApp chat from your Windows Computer or Mac as the application now has desktop apps for Windows and Mac OS.
The apps are much linked to WhatsApp Web, which was launched in January 2015. What the App does is to simply mirror the chats from your phone app, in that case you’ll be unable to use WhatsApp for Windows computer or Mac if your phone is not connected to the internet or should your battery on your phone ran out of battery.
If you’re interested in to try the App and set up WhatsApp on your computer, you can download the installer from here but you will need Windows 8 or higher, Mac OS 10.9 or higher.
Once downloaded, you will be presented with a QR code that you will need to scan with your phone before you can log in. To do so, open the WhatsApp app, go to Chats, click on the menu button, select WhatsApp web, and point your device to the code. You should be good to go in seconds.
However WhatsApp voice calling is not supported yet on the desktop apps, but everything else function as normal.
