Samsung Pay UK delayed till 2017

Unfortunately UK have to wait a while to taste Samsung Pay, currently Samsung Pay is only available in the US and Korea, UK is next to launch, though Samsung announced that UK will have it this year, as you know the year is running out, now the service has been push back to next year.

“Following successful launches of Samsung Pay around the world, we are planning to launch the service in the UK in 2017,” the South Korean tech giant said.

There’s no official word on why the App is delayed, rumor suggested that it’s due to an agreement with UK banks, though UK don’t have to wait for Samsung pay to try or use mobile payment as Android Pay is been out a while, it’s worth mentioning that not all financial banks in the UK supports Android Pay.

On the other hand Samsung Pay seems to have more benefit that Android and Apple Pay because both Android and Apple Pay relies on NFC but Samsung Pay uses a Magnetic Strip Technology that allows a contactless payment to be made with a terminals that doesn’t feature NFC readers, it means Samsung Pay can be use anyway your credit card works.
