Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8+ Official
Finally, Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ announced, not much surprises at all, as I give kudos to everyone behind the rumours and leaks of both phones before now, as for the S8, it a 5.8-inch screen while the S8+ is a 6.2-inch, both phone sports AMOLEDs with an extra wide aspect ratio of 18.5:9, they have the same resolution too (1,440 x 2,960px).
Both Galaxy S8 and S8+ are the first phones to launch with 1 gigabit LTE, kudos to Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 chipsets, both have 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with up to 256GB microSD.
As for camera both phones got the same 12MP Dual Pixel sensor, with Multiframe Processing, F1.7 lens aperture and large 1.4µm pixels which bring in more light when there’s not enough around while selfie camera got 8MP with F1.7 lens aperture, autofocus and multiple face detection.
The battery size seems to be a little bit concern to me, as the S8 gets a 3,000mAh while the S8+ gets a bigger 3,500mAh battery considering the screen size both supports Quick Charge 2.0 (Samsung promised that the history of Note 7 battery issue won’t repeat itself because they have taken extra measure).
Other features includes, Bixby, the digital assistant, Iris scanner, Fingerprint sensor repositioned to an awkward position beside the camera sensor, IP68, Gorilla 5.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will launch in five colors Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue and Maple Gold. Both phones are expected to go on sale on April 21 price is pretty affordable as rumor claims it will cost over $1000 but that’s not the case, the S8 will cost $750, while the S8+ is $850.
